The role of an arthroscopy doctor includes both diagnostic and therapeutic responsibilities. They treat a wide range of joint conditions—especially those affecting the knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and wrist—such as torn ligaments (like ACL or meniscus), cartilage damage, rotator cuff tears, loose bone fragments, or inflammation. After a detailed clinical evaluation and imaging tests, the arthroscopy doctor uses the arthroscope to both confirm the diagnosis and correct the problem in the same session. These procedures are often performed on an outpatient basis, allowing patients to return home the same day. In addition to surgery, the doctor also oversees post-operative care, works with physiotherapists, and monitors rehabilitation to ensure full recovery and long-term joint health.
